A Ridiculously easy to grow hydrangea.
Annabelle hydrangea is a smooth hydrangea. It gets a bad wrap for having weak stems but if Annabelle is planted out in the full sun the stems will be much stronger than if planted in a shaded area.
These are sometimes referred to as snowball bushes, however a snowball bush is actually a viburnum.
Beginning in late June blooms appear in large white balls that over time will slowly turn green until they turn brown and are finished for season. No you cannot force the blooms to another color. These make excellent cut flowers.
Annabelle has a mounded look with a size around 4ft by 4ft. These bloom on new growth so you can trim them anytime you get around to it. They greatly benefit from regular pruning and even hard pruning every so often.
